Ed.D. Candidate, 2021

“This is truly a dream come true for me and one I am still absorbing that I am actually in this inaugural program. What an honor! The professors have again answered my many questions, emails, and have took the time to personally call me. What an amazing group of individuals and their commitment to making this program possible is truly remarkable. It is often rumored that professors can be somewhat unavailable and aloof. Well, not at WTAMU! I could go on and on about how helpful and encouraging they have been! Our cohort has the most exceptional people and we are all working side by side with helping each other. WTAMU and the community of Canyon have my heart. I am in awe about being a buff again. My ultimate desire is to make a positive shift in education while serving the ever changing needs of students across the world. I am dreaming big and bleeding maroon.”

“How exciting to be a part of something so special! I am especially honored to be making this adventure with my cohort, as we have truly developed a special bond as we have journeyed through our first semester together. My goal, as an educational leader, is to be present to our students, their parents, our teachers, and our communities, most especially in spaces and places, where I can create change via lived and shared experiences in order to better recognize and serve their needs. My personal goal is to continue to make my mother, husband, and sons proud of who I am and what I do for others. I truly aspire to be a servant leader and hope to undertake many more challenges to provide for the needs of students and families in our community. Therefore, I am humbled to be a part of WT's Ed.D. program!”
